Questo quartiere può essere diviso in due zone, quella tra via Piave e via Piemonte-via Salandra, con una discreta densità abitativa, e quella restante fino a via Bissolati, ad alta concentrazione di uffici e ministeri.
A pochi passi da Via Flavia c'è la bellissima Piazza Fiume, dove si trovano meravigliosi palazzi storici accanto a costruzioni dell'architettura più moderna.
Vicino a Piazza Fiume c'è Porta Pia, una bella struttura realizzata da Michelangelo Buonarroti, diventata famosa nel 1870, quando ci fu la battaglia tra le truppe pontificie e le truppe italiane, che segnò la fine del potere papale e il ritorno di Roma all'Italia.
